Shiba Inu Lead Developer Comments on Partnership with Rap Artiste Busta Rhymes

Shiba Inu lead developer Shytoshi Kusama has commented on the recent collaboration between Shibacals and American superstar Busta Rhymes.

The collaboration, announced by the Shiba Inu-backed protocol last week, will see the production of Busta Rhymes-themed physical collectibles. Impressive as the move is, Shytoshi Kusama used his platform to correct what he termed a “misnomer.”

The Core Focus

Unlike the way the announcement was re-echoed by the media and members of the Shibarium team, the collaboration is not essentially about Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs).

As contained in the original announcement from Shibacals, the mention of NFT to denote the collectibles was used sparingly. While the team shared a digital artwork of Busta Rhymes in a green shirt and a dark background, the underlying takeaway is that the physical prototype of the piece is under production.

The exclusive Celebrities Collectibles is in partnership with Cooky Inu, a blockchain record startup with royalty-sharing programs. To Shytoshi Kusama, the NFT leaning of the partnership is a misnomer as the core focus is on the physical collectibles that are underway.

While NFTs are no less of an innovation, the push for physical collectibles underscores how the entire ecosystem has a deep leaning toward real-world uses for Web3-based innovations or creativity.

Shiba Inu’s Attractiveness is Growing

Shiba Inu is on a massive growth trend, especially with the current positivity surrounding Shibarium, its Ethereum-based layer-2 network. With transactions now beyond the 82 million mark, the signs of intense adoption are glaring.

The creation of Busta Rhymes’ physical collectible will ultimately contribute to this attractiveness and help reposition Shiba Inu as a protocol with a deep alliance with the traditional world.

This collaboration will also place it on par with other top protocols like Polygon which has wide-ranging deals with firms like Starbucks and Adidas among others.
